Free Fonts Site: That actually lets you download !

Tuesday, June 21, 2005
Yep, that's right a Free Fonts site that actually lets you download FREE FONTS. Unlike most other sites that claim to let download but instead takes you all around to the web to their advertisers, this site lets download up to 25,000 fonts. No Really ! Don't get me wrong, this site still has its share of Banner Ads but it has the Fonts along with it too ! Finally !

Site URL: http://www.atomicfonts.com/

Google Print:Search the full text of books, REALLY !

Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Google Print: Search the full text of books (and discover new ones). Yes it is true, and it is even cooler than it sounds. In allows you to search text from published works with the ability to view the exact page of said text on screen. It obviously only works with published books that Google Print has gotten around to indexing, but never the less it is pretty amazing.. Have a look, it is still only in beta right now, but seems to worls flawlessly.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) with SAGE

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an increasingly popular mechanism for providing information you want in a clean and unified format. RSS is best know for streamlining the way people receive their daily news fix, and RSS is proving itself just as capable for tracking and distributing multimedia content.

If you have never experimented with RSS "feeds", may I suggest installing the Firefox plugin Sage.

(Make sure your security settings on Firefox allows you to install inline from this site)

Cool Site Alert: YubNub

Thursday, June 09, 2005
Tired of saving your web favorites locally? YubNub is an Internet command line tool that allows you to assign "commands" (think keyword shortcuts) to any URL you like. For example, type in "/." and YubNub directs you to slashdot.org. "Sarah" catapults you to this very page (I created it myself, naturally). As long as your command isn't already taken, you could dream up whatever cute little interweb nicknames your little heart desires, assign them to your favorite URLs, and they'll be consistent no matter what computer you hop onto. Check out the current command list to see what others are adding, and then add YubNub to your Firefox search bar ....

Hell has frozen over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Everyone is skating on the ice !

If you have been living under a rock for the last few days, you might now have hear the HUGE annoucement about Apple Macintosh changing their microprocessor supplier from IBM/Power PC to the Intel x86 architecture. What does this mean for PC users, only time will tell... The transition is not supposed to be complete until 2006, but it looks quite promising. Will it be hacked, will the new Pentium -D chip's DRM(Digital Rights Management) prevent installation of OS-X on a PC until purchased from Dell ? Again only time will tell.. Apple claims it can only can be installed in "Apple-Intel" software. No matter what happens, it promises to be pretty damn interesting...
